Greetings, warriors of Aetheria. Come one come all, and participate in the bloodbath known as, "Relic Warfare!"

Send forth a call to arms, in order to defend your faction! Enlist powerful warriors and allies, in order to oppose your enemies relic power! To the victor, shall be a statue proclaiming Relic superiority!

Now, here are the details, and to encourage more bloodshed, the time length of this event will be shortened.

-At that time announcements on shout will be made in order to officially start off the event.
-Victory is achieved by having the highest number of relic captures, as per the relic counter in Avendell.
-The event shall end on Saturday, April 5th 2008, at 12 midnight (cst).
-At that time announcements on shout will be made in order to officially end the event.

Forum revamp

Tuesday January 29, 2008 13:38

Posted By Flailer in News and Announcements

Well, as you've probably noticed, our forum revamp here in Neversummer Realms is mostly complete. The dust is still settling and I'm sure there's some permissions we've missed somewhere along the way, but the NS3 and NS4 forums have been combined and the new public NS5 forum has been opened up with some intitial teaser info released.

If you want the new overall forum view, go to: index.php

If you're just interested in NS4 things, you can have pretty much the same view as you've always had at:
viewforum.php?f=139

Same with NS3:
viewforum.php?f=110

For NWN2/NS5 info, go here:
viewforum.php?f=142

And, if you haven't notived it, one useful link off the new forums is the 'View Active Topics' link:
search.php?search_id=active_topics

Also, we've moved some of the forums a bit to reflect the new forum hierarchy (for example, the Off Topics forum is shared across all the NSRealms forums now).

If you notice forums that have incorrect permissions or have any problems or questions, just post something in the Meta Forum forum at the main level: viewforum.php?f=6

---------------

We hope this forum merger acts to bring our vast playerbase together and will move us forward into the next phase of bringing you quality gaming at Neversummer.

- As of Noon (cst) , January 19th (sat) , the relic counter in Avendell will be reset to 0.
- As of Noon (cst) , January 26th (sat) , the relic counter in Avendell will determine the winning city.
- The winning Faction will get the Defenders of the Relic statue placed in their city.

ps: Share the event information to those players in game, who don't browse the forums. Thank you.

Forum Migration

Thursday December 27, 2007 08:10

Posted By Flailer in News and Announcements

Patience is advised as in the near future we're planning on migrating our forums to the latest version of PHPBB and combining the NS3, NS4, and NS5 forums into one master forum for better content, user, and forum management and better forum security.

Also, if you were planning on typing that big treatsie post on analyzing the intricacies of why [insert Neversummer hot-button issue du jour] sucks/rocks, you may want to hold off on that so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle.

Some of the forums may get locked or disappear in the process til the dust settles as well.

Thanks for your patience and we hope this progress will ultimately enhance your Neversummer experience. :D

If you wouldn't pass the link to your grandparents or grandchildren, don't post it here.

Quality Assurance Position

Development Assistant.

I am looking for a reasonably experienced NS4 player who would find assisting during the various development cycles of NS4 fun.

Primarily the job will involve working with me on my development server in order to help test new features, changes and/or bug fixes before they go live to the general populous.

Requirements:
-Good communication skills in English.
-Must be able to assist in the evenings of a GMT +8 Timezone.
This means midday-ish London, 4am-ish California for example. Needing to pull an all-nighter each time some testing is required wont work realistically - we've tried it.
-Patience! Testing complex new updates often requires lots of this.
-Discretion. Not leaking any info from the dev shed to the playerbase is essential.
-All the things you would usually need to play NWN plus a broadband internet connection.

Wish List:
-Able to use our Neversummer IRC channel and/or Skype (http://www.skype.com) for voice comms.

Benefits:
-Nothing special is being offered for your services I'm afraid. If being one of the first to see new NS4 features and having the chance to give some input regarding them during the test cycle is enough for you then great.
-You will NOT have access to any of the NS4 code. However if you aspire to gain better knowledge of developing, C++ etc etc I can assist you with that in return.

How to Apply:
-Please send a PM to me introducing yourself and letting me know why you think you're the best kept secret in dev assisting.

Thanks.

Erroneous Extra Pure Class Tokens.

Saturday July 21, 2007 09:05

Posted By Sparky in News and Announcements

It has come to my attention that some people out there are receiving extra Pure Class Tokens. This should not be happening, a player is only supposed to have one token of any given ability type. Therefore, I would like to ask those people who have erroneously received an extra token to PM a DM and a Dev explaining that you have an extra Pure Class Token that you need removed, and then recount the method that lead to getting the extra token so we can troubleshoot this problem immediately.

Please keep in mind that this is now a publicly known bug, and using any of your extra tokens counts as exploiting a known bug, thus violating the III Neversummer Commandment [url:1wgjpowg]http://www.nsrealm.com/public/ns4/viewtopic.php?t=1828&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=[/url:1wgjpowg] and will be dealt with accordingly.

Temporary Return

Tuesday July 17, 2007 12:24

Posted By TGPO in News and Announcements

I have been asked to step back in and help out with a few issues in the back end of things. The big news on that is a general warning that the website may be going up and down occasionally over the next two weeks depending on the extent of the work needing to be done.

In the mean time, its really good to be amongst you folks again. Just going through I see names I know and some that I don't. For those that I dont let me extend a greeting to you for joining the best PW going. For those I do, you already knew that :).

New dev blood

Thursday April 19, 2007 12:19

Posted By Flailer in News and Announcements

Just a quick announcement about a couple of dev issues.

First off, we wanted to welcome the newest dev to the fold: Binkyuk!

(golf applause)

There appear to be some more devs in the pipeline too, so stay tuned.

Secondly, with more and more of my attention being taken up by NS5 and real life lately, I haven't been able to devote the time to NS4 that she deserves. So, I'm stepping down as lead dev for NS4 and handing the reigns over to the capable hands of Zing, whom you know and love.

So, thanks for allowing me to play a part in the NS4 life-cycle! It's been a blast to be able to work on things over the years. I'll still be around and may still toss a few contributions over the wall here and there.

But everyone wish Zing congrats and good luck!
