Shield Dwarf Bio

Shield Dwarves are known for their skill in warfare, their ability to withstand physical and magical punishment, their knowledge of the earth's secrets, their hard work, and their capacity for drinking ale. Their mysterious kingdoms, carved out from the insides of mountains, are renowned for the marvelous treasures they produce as gifts or for trade. Shield Dwarves receive no additional bonuses beyond their racial bonuses.

Favored Class: Fighter

Shield Dwarf Guide

Pros: These guys are your Standard Dwarves, with the +2 Constitution and Favored Class is Fighter like the other two dwarves. Unlike the other two, they do not have anything special in particular about them. No ECL as well.

Cons: As most Dwarves are, the Shield Dwarves are also socially reserved, with a -2 to their Charisma ability score. Other than that, theres nothing else bad about these guys.

Opinion: Just your Basic Dwarf right here, a Fighter build. Charisma is dumpable for them anyway, the bonus to Constitution helps any character. If you don't want an ECL (Duergar) or don't need any Charisma (Gold Dwarf) then these guys are it. Not only can they make many good melee builds (like Dwarven Defenders and Weapon Masters), but also make good Wizards due to the Constitution bonus (which they definitely need). There's nothing these guys excel at, but other than Charisma based classes there's nothing they're really bad at either.
