Half-Orc

Half-Orc Bio

In the wild frontiers, tribes of Human and Orc barbarians live in uneasy balance, fighting in times of war and trading in times of peace. The Half-Orcs who are born in the frontier may live with either Human or Orc parents, but they are nevertheless exposed to both cultures. Some, for whatever reason, leave their homeland and travel to civilized lands, bringing with them the tenacity, courage, and combat prowess that they developed in the wilds.

Half-Orc Guide

Pros: The Half-orc was simply made for its brutish qualities. Its +2 to Strength is a necessity to for such a race and this gives him a +1 to AB as well as a greater ability to carry heavier items. Having no Level Adjustment is a big plus since it significantly makes a Half-orc easier to level.

Cons: Just as any brute would be, the Half-Orc receives a penalty to Intelligence and Charisma indicating that such a race is meant to be played more by melee-type of characters. Although Charisma may not be used as much by a Half-orc, having less Intelligence hampers the Half-orc from investing more skillpoints.

Conclusion: Half-orcs are clearly meant for melee but players wanting to invest into building Half-orc Clerics or Druids is also possible since they don't rely heavily on Intelligence. Having no ECL is worth taking afterall.
