Githyanki Bio

The Githyanki, the Children of Gith, are a humanoid race living in the astral plane descended from the escaped thralls that overthrew the planes-spanning empire of the Illithids thousands of years ago under the leadership of a female rebel named Gith. Bred from the beginning of their history to hate the Illithids and any form of slavery or tyranny, Githyanki are a race of warriors, excelling at swordplay and the creation of ornate armor and weapons.

Githyanki Guide

Pros:This race has arguably the best stat changes. Fighter favored class and a boost to all three fighter stats. a boost to discipline, one of the most coveted skills. When you count in the boost to con, it has a +3 fort save. Psionic assault is basically a last ditch heal when surrounded. And last and far from least, it has the most cherished prize of all sub-races: Spell resistance.

Cons:A loss to all three support stats mean that any cast will be hurt choosing Githyanki. Evil alignment only precludes them from joining Northern Coalition or The Circle, as well as prevents them from being Paladins. ECL 3 is the biggest drawback to this race.

Conclusion:This race will make the perfect tank. A boost to all fighter abilities, Spell Resistance, and a heal spell make this the best race for all fighter types in the game - if you're willing to stick out the slow leveling.
