Illegal Character and Log-in Names

                        There is and always has been a rule about Character names as well as Log-in names on NS4.  It is clear that some decisions made in the past to allow certain founding players to keep less than acceptable names is now emboldening others to follow suit.  Because this is a family friendly server and because the rules are in place about names, any questionable Character name or Log-in name will now be subject to deletion.  This goes for anyone who has an account or a toon that was an "allowed exception" in the past.  If you have an account or a toon with a derogatory name, sexually suggestive name, vulgar language name, or anything that breaks the naming rules, I suggest you make another account/toon with a name that doesn't break the rules and move your gear/books to the new location.  The old location won't be there much longer.

Since the question comes up from time to time, account names are limited to 32 characters, character names to 31 characters. Try to keep them well shorter than that, please. (It's an oddity in the game code, longer names cause the network code to do some weird things that cause lag.)

                        We found a bunch of people being disgraceful cheaters (including a server crash). All CD keys I could personally associate with it have been permanently banned. If you feel like you've been unfairly banned, message me; it's possible there was some collateral.

                        The NS4 Game Server has been migrated to a new server thanks to the generosity of BlkMamba! DNS has already been updated so please continue to use ns4.nsrealm.com to reach the new server. If for some reason you cannot reach the server at ns4.nsrealm.com, the IP Address is 45.55.86.61.

                        cely completed the server move (same host, different facility, hardware is slightly better and Torm-willing the networking).




ns4.nsrealm.com has been updated, nwnx plugin updated skywing's mp matching service and that should trickle out to the nwn module listing sites and displays properly in virusman's mp module for nwncx. Failing that, the new IP address is 104.236.4.134

Easter weekend Defenders of the Relic Event

                        At long last the time has come for all of the warriors in the land to fight!!


Who will take home the coveted championship and bragging rights?




Here are the details


- The relic counter in Avendell will be set to zero, and all relics sent to their home cradle at the start of each heat.


- The event will run a span of three days totaling 5 heats


04/18/14 1st heat 1200-1600 EST 2nd heat -2000-0000 EST


04/19/14 3rd heat 0800-1200 EST 4th heat 2000-0000 EST 


04/20/14 5th heat 1200-1600 EST 




-So get on the horn/phone/crystal ball and call up all those grizzelled veterans




-At the beginning of each heat announcements on shout will be made in order to officially start each heat.


-Victory is achieved by having the highest number of relic captures, as per the relic counter in Avendell.  The Defender statue will be relocated if necessary to the winners home town.


-A reward will be given to the MVP of each faction actively involved in relic warfare. (A player vote in the forums will determine MVP's)


-No solo mulitboxing allowed. (this applies to all on the server not just those actively involved in the event during the scheduled times)


-No cross or friendly faction dropping of the relics. (If you pick up the relic you must attempt to cap it in your home faction)


-Pick an alliance (ie AORK, MASL, TCNC and stick with it for each heat. If you wish to defect to another alliance for the next heat, that's fine.


-Chuggers will be continiously chickened, cronic abuse equals choked chicken. (booted)


-Above all else have fun!! This event is all about the players.

                        Our Hosting Provider will be performing Network Maintenance on Saturday June 15, 2013 between 19:00 PDT and 23:00 PDT (02:00 UTC and 06:00 UTC).  This may or may not affect the NS4 Game Server.  The website, wiki, and IRC will remain unaffected.
